I have recently taken over as Women’s Officer for my local CLP. I have requested a copy of the Women’s Handbook from Erin three times over the last three months. So far my emails have gone unanswered. Help!

Like one of the posts on this page I have recently been appointed Women’s Officer for my local CLP. I emailed Erin Mulholland to request a copy of the Women’s Officer Handbook but have not had any response.

Please can I have a copy, and any other relevant information.

Thank you.

I have been a labour supporter for 50 years. No more. Jeremy Corbyn does not represent me. As long as he is leader I will never vote Labour again. And there are many many people like me.

Labour has totally lost the plot. I doubt they will ever get into power in my lifetime. Sadly by voting in Corbyn you are pampering to extreme left wing sectors and you have given the Tories a free rein to do their worst to our more vulnerable in society, and the destruction of the NHS.

A very very sad day for me.

Hi

I’ve just become women’s officer for Stoke South CLP in Stoke-on-Trent. I want to invite a guest speaker to our first meeting (after the leadership announcement)

One of the things that keep cropping up is the tampon tax row in respect that sanitary products should be provided for free. It would be great if anyone could point me in the direction of where I can find a guest speaker on the subject about tackling this subject and what we can do as a CLP

Kind regards

Georgina

Hi. I am the women’s officer for my CLP. I have emailed twice to emma_meeham@labour.org.uk to request copies of the Women’s Officer Handbook & 8 Ways to Win With Women guide, without any reply. Can someone please send these to me?. Also, why should I have to ask for these? Surely it would be sensible to put them in an easily accessible place on the Labour Women area of the website so that any women’s officer could down load them?

I joined the Labout Party on Tuesday 19th a.m. and paid £25, and have had no confirmation to date – would you please confirm it?
commented 2016-07-13 05:42:57 +0100
I joined as a full member on the 25 June in the immediate aftermath of the referendum. I set up an annual direct debit.

I understand the upcoming leadership election rules mean I can’t vote.

A £25 supporter now can, even if they now join after today (in this 48hr window) but an earlier full member paying twice as much can’t? That’s a ridiculous anomaly that must be rectified.

I didn’t join for the primary purpose of supporting JC. As I said on my application I joined after waking up on 24 June to learn that there had been a vote for Brexit and out of concern to work within the LP to support an effective opposition.

I have been a life long middle of the road labour voter, working single mum and had finally resolved to become more active now my children are in their late teens.

I am appalled that as a full member, who joined before the start of the leadership challenge, I will not get a vote. The iniquity of this is anti-labour and smacks of gerrymandering.

If anyone is listening I do hope the NEC will correct this. Otherwise where is the incentive for full membership?

Hi

It’s about time the Labour Party joined the 21st century and appointed a women for the top job, yet again we have a middle class white male in charge, this situation needs to change and now would be a good time.

Dear Labour Women,

I am writing to invite you to an exciting and innovative environmental event in central London on Sunday 8 May. The “Going Backwards” march will feature people proceeding en masse backwards down Whitehall to protest against the current administration’s woeful backtracking in virtually all areas of climate change and environmental policy during its first year in power. Here is the link to the Facebook event page:

http://www.campaigncc.org/goingbackwards

If you could announce this event to your meetings and inform your members that would be great! Meanwhile, sign up on Facebook and invite your Facebook friends! Tell everyone! Spread the news on social media! Hundreds are coming already but we want to turn this into thousands.

The event will be very dramatic as (as the march proceeds) a famous host will introduce a rolling series of street theatre performances to pinpoint the craven actions of one guilty government ministry after another. These will highlight the administration’s attack on the clean renewable technologies of the future that can help save the planet and shame its support for the dirty old fossil fuels that are choking our one and only world.

There will be a demonstration against the Prime Minister’s backsliding on a third runway at Heathrow.

Finally, there will be a poignant protest against air pollution and the tragically large and unnecessary toll of lives it takes each year due to government inaction.

Having highlighted the fatal and inefficient policies of the present, the event will end on an optimistic note as a range of speakers many of whom are pioneers in their field will show us how good the future can be if we reject backward and self-interested thinking and embrace a positive and dynamic agenda.

Yours,

John Hunter

The Labour Party should hang its head in shame. You are just like your cohorts the sociopathic Tories, you are warmongering insane people, destined to repeat Blairs hideous attack on Iraq. I hope and pray Corbyn cuts you all loose and takes all the new party members with him. I will spit on this neoliberal nasty party for the rest of my life. Disgrace.

I have been a life long supporter of the labour party but got quite disillusioned with the pseudo Tory party that the labour party has become over the last decade or so.The party has lost touch with working class people. We have no party representing us and our basic human rights are being eroded year on year.Jeremy Corbyn represents a return to Labour Party for ordinary working people and a refreshingly honest approach to politics. Why is the Labour Party allowing the media to attack him before he has been given a chance to show what he is capable of. Some Party members seem intent on doing the same. Give the man a chance!

I am surprised to see in the issues raised at different groups that nobody has mentioned the raising of the retirement age??? I first paid tax at age 15 and apart from a few years out when my son was young, have worked all my life, and now at age 60 to be told now that I must keep working till I am 66. I feel I have been robbed of both choice and money, does nobody else feel like this?

Dear Madam/Sir,

I have been trying in vain to find your policies on your website. Please could direct to where on your website I might find this information?

I am 59 and have been unemployed for the last 7 months since my job as a college learning resources manager was made redundant. I have been oddly cheered up by a recent Woman’s Hour reference to the Commission on Older Women – it’s nice to know you are not alone and I have at least had interviews. I can’t afford to wait until I am 66 to retire! How can older professional women get together to remind employers what a great deal we can offer?

I want to know when the ’future candidates programme" will be again open for applications
